New York Jets vs Cincinnati Bengals 2010 AFC Wild Card Predictions: The NFL Playoffs are finally here and coincidentally, with the exception of Baltimore vs New England, all the first round Wild Card games will be rematches from the final week of the regular season. The first game of this 2010 AFC Wild Card Predictions will be played under freezing conditions, as the sports betting odds favorite New York Jets [-2½] look to duplicate their effort in Week 17 against the hosting Cincinnati Bengals [+2½].
That’s it, the Bengals will actually be the sports betting odds underdog, despite winning the AFC South and regardless of being at home in the opener. According to 2010 AFC Wild Card Predictions experts at SBGGLOBAL.com, the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals will combine for an OVER/UNDER total of 34 points.
The Jets are coming in with a lot of momentum after clinching a playoff berth with a 37-0 massacre of Cincy less than a week ago. This is the first time that New York will be headed top the postseason since 2006. Rex Ryan’s top-ranked defense shut down the Bengals offense even when Carlson Palmer was in the game.
"It's a special feeling," first year quarterback Mark Sanchez said. "A few weeks ago, people had us counted out." And with good reason, because the Jets had to win five of their last six games in order to get into the 2010 AFC Wild Card Predictions.
"This wasn't our goal to make the playoffs. Our goals are much higher," coach Ryan said. "We were 4-6 and we had a mission with the team. It went from impossible to improbable, back to impossible and then to inevitable."
For the Bengals, Chad Ochocinco believe that the loss did very little as far as the Cincy’s team psyche. "We'll be fine," he said. "We'll study a lot of things we can fix, especially offensively. Next week will be a lot more serious." But speaking of fine, the 5-time Pro Bowler was anything but for the finale, as he suffered a bruised knee during warmups.
Ochocinco played the first half but failed to record a single grab for the first time since the ‘02 season. "I'm all right," he said. "I'm taking medicine." The Bengals are going to need all the help theyu can get this week, as they face the NFL’s top ranked defense to open the 2010 AFC Playoffs.
"Ochocinco had his ego bruised when he fell down before the game," Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis said. "He'll be rested today. Other than that, I think he's healthy, as he's Twittered all over America. That's what happens. The only way to come back from that is to put up now. Now is the time for all of us to put up."
