LSU vs. Alabama 2012 BCS Championship Game Predictions: The day has finally arrived for No. 1 LSU vs. No. 2 Alabama Part-2. Back in November it was called – Game of the Century – this time it has a new name – The 2012 BCS Championship Game. LSU won the last meeting, a 9-6 defensive battle at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The BCS game will be played a little closer to home for the Tigers, at the New Orleans Superdome. Today’s game is expected to be one of the heaviest wagered college football games in history. ESPN will televise the contest with kickoff set for 8:30 pm ET.
LSU won by 3-points the last time they played but this round it’s Alabama favored by -2 1/2 with a 40-point (over/under) total. LSU backers are getting +115 College Football Odds on the BetOnline.com moneyline while the price of wagering Alabama to win SU is -135 ($135 bet to win $100).
LSU is 13-0 on the season , winners of the Southeastern Conference, and looking for its 14th win for the first time in school history and second BCS Championship under Les Miles. Alabama is 11-1, losers only to LSU. Voters in all the polls look at these two teams as the best two in college football and the BCS standings agree. That’s why two schools from the same division, in the same conference (SEC) are playing in the BCS game.
By this time you know all the trends, you know all the players and coaches. What it’s all about today is – who do I bet on? Who will win and by how much? The only job I have is to tell you what I think.
LSU is my pick as it was the first time. While Alabama has great weapons, tailback Trent Richardson, and probably the best coach in college football, Nick Saban, it’s the Tigers who are loaded with the best players on both sides of the ball and in special teams. If LSU wins this game, the Tigers will be looked upon as one of the best college football teams ever to take the field.
BCS Championship Prediction: LSU is No. 1 today and they will be No. 1 tomorrow; My Pick – LSU +2 1/2.
