Got a side in this weekend’s NFC Championship Game? Locked in on a total? Well, don’t forget to take advantage of the numerous 2012 NFC Championship Game Prop Bets which, in some cases, can represent great value and easy returns. Looking for a few potentially lucrative propositions for Sunday’s San Francisco showdown? Here are a couple that grabbed my interest:
Total Rushing Yards – Brandon Jacobs: Under 32.5 (-115)
Jacobs’ rushing numbers have been up and down all season, but his rush attempts have taken a hit since the return of Ahmad Bradshaw to the lineup. In the Giants first meeting with the 49ers Jacobs rushed for 55 yards on 18 carries, but Bradshaw did not see action in that game. In New York’s last five games he has averaged 41 rush yards on nine carries; however, given the nature of San Francisco’s rush defense (ranked first in the league – 77.2 rush yards per game allowed), he does not not figure to reach that total this Sunday even though he will probably get anywhere from eight to 10 touches.
Total Passing Yards – Alex Smith: Under 220.5 (-115)
Smith is averaging 202.6 pass yards per game on the season and he crested the 220.5 yard mark just two times in the 49ers last seven games. One of those ‘Overs’ came last weekend in a high scoring shoot-out with the Saints. In fact, Smith threw for a season high 299 yards on a season high 42 pass attempts in the victory. The Giants, though, are not the Saints and their slightly more conservative offensive approach will probably result in the Niners sticking to their own more traditional offensive game plan. I would venture to say that if Smith throws 40 or more passes this Sunday San Francisco will find itself down by 10 or more points and in a chase position. That is a situation the 49ers have not faced at Candlestick this season and it would be shocking if they fell into it this weekend.
