Brett Favre Replaced by Kerry Collins in 2009 Pro Bowl: This afternoon, it was announced that Tennessee Titans quarterback, Kerry Collins (242-415, 58.3%, 2676 yards, 6.4 avg., 12 TDs, 7 INTs), will replace New York Jets’ Brett Favre (343-522, 65.7%, 3472 yards, 6.7 avg., 22 TDs, 22 INTs) in this year’s 2009 Pro Bowl. This will be Collins second trip to the Pro Bowl.

Finding a Pro Bowl replacement for Favre in the AFC came down to the San Diego Chargers’ Philip Rivers (312-478, 65.3%, 4009 yards, 8.4 avg., 34 TDs, 11 INTs) and Collins.

In the end, it was Collins who was selected to join Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler as the AFC’s quarterbacks on February 8th. Collins’ only previous Pro Bowl appearance was in 1996, when threw for 2,676 yards, 12 touchdowns, 7 interceptions and a passer rating of 80.2.

Accompanying Collins from his team will be: (DT) Albert Haynesworth, (S) Chris Hope, (CB) Cortland Finnegan, (RB) Chris Johnson and (LT) Michael Roos. Center Kevin Mawae was voted to the team, but will miss the game because of a torn left triceps tendon.
