Percy Harvin 2010 Super Bowl MVP Betting Odds

Percy Harvin 2010 Super Bowl MVP Betting Odds: Reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Percy Harvin has the ability to be the difference maker on any given Sunday. As the Minnesota Vikings get ready for the NFC Championship game, Brett Favre and the Vikings special teams certainly hope that this playmaker is healthy and ready to play. With his homerun ability returning kicks and his breakaway speed in the open field, it’s not completely put of the question to talk about this former Florida Gators as the potential shiniest star in this year’s 2010 Super Bowl XLIV.

Currently at SPORTSBOOK.com, NFL 2010 Super Bowl experts have given the Minnesota Vikings’ Percy Harvin [25/1 or +2500 ML] some of the worst sports betting odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl MVP Betting Odds! But if the 22nd overall pick in last year’s draft is healthy enough, this kid would be an ace in the hole for coach Brad Childress against any defense. But the key is: is Percy Harvin healthy enough right now?

This week, the Rookie of the Year missed a second straight practice, as he continues to suffer from migraine headaches. These same migraines cost Harvin a game this season, and have been an issue throughout most of his life. The 21-year-old speedster not only has the ability to hit the homerun against opposing defensive backs and special teams, but he can also do it coming out of the backfield.

But as the Vikings prepare for their biggest game in over 30 years, Harvin remains a huge question mark. In fact, at this point, even his ability to fly with the team to New Orleans on Saturday remains unknown.

“I have no idea what’s going to happen,” Favre said of the game-status of the 2009 Pro Bowl selectee. “We hope he plays, but we have to prepare as we’ve been doing, like Percy’s playing.”

In his first year in the Bigs, Harvin registered 1,156 yards on 42 kickoff returns for a 27.5 average per attempt. Took two of those for touchdowns, including one from a whopping 101 yards out. Returning kicks he also did a good job of giving his offense favorable field position in registering 27 returns that went over 20 yards, and 5 of those went for over 40 yards.

As a wide receiver, Harvin became Favre’s trusted third down option. In 15 games, 8 in which he started, the 5-foot-10 wideout caught 60 passes for 790 yards and 6 touchdowns. Harvin averaged of 13.2 yards per-reception and a long of 51 yards, which he took to the house. But that’s not all!

Percy Harvin also carried the ball 15 times out of the backfield for 135 yards. That’s an average of 9.0 yards per rush that includes a long of 35 yards. Looking at Harvin’s stats, it’s easy to see why this guy would at least be in the conversation for possible 2010 Super Bowl MVP should the Minnesota Vikings win it all!
