2010 Super Bowl Predictions: As the Colts made their rounds though the 2010 Super Bowl media this afternoon in Miami, Florida, Indy fans got some pretty good news about the most famous ankle in sports. His teammates say he’s like X-Men’s Wolverine when it comes to healing from injuries and they might have a good argument. Today, the head coach of the 2010 Super Bowl Predictions’ sports betting odds favorite Indianapolis Colts sounded very optimistic about the playing status of defensive end Dwight Freeney.
“He’s trending in the right direction,” Jim Caldwell said at his news conference today. The Indianapolis Colts [-5] continue to be the clear sports betting odds favorites to win the 2010 Super Bowl Predictions against the New Orleans Saints [+5] on Sunday night. For those of you interested in betting on the OVER/UNDER, 2010 Super Bowl Predictions experts at BODOG.com have set their mark for the Colts and Saints at a combined total of 57 points scored.
After tearing a ligament in his right ankle during the Colts’ win over the Jets in the AFC Championship game, Freeney has been received around-the-clock treatment. Even though he appears to be improving, the 5-time Pro Bowler has yet to practice with the team. “He’s getting better, but we’ll see,” Caldwell added. “It’s still a day-to-day situation.”
Other injury concerns for the Colts include offensive lineman Ryan Lilja, who has a sore back, and cornerback Jerraud Powers who according to Caldwell has “an internal fixation of a fractured foot”. Nevertheless, the first-year head coach also sounded optimistic about Powers for Super Sunday. “He feels that he’s going to be able to play,” he said. “It’s just kind of up to the doctors … if he’s able to run and run without any inhibitions whatsoever. He’s moving along and moving well and we’ll see.”
