by Matt Foust on Saturday, February 5th, 2011

Super Bowl XLV is almost here, and aside from the game's outcome, many are also pondering which player will take home the MVP trophy. There are several strong candidates this year as Green Bay and Pittsburgh have a number of renowned players on both sides of the ball. The favorite to win the award in the latest 2011 Super Bowl MVP Odds, though, is Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The six year veteran is listed at +150 monyeline odds to secure the coveted prize.

Top 2011 Super Bowl MVP Candidates:2011 Super Bowl MVP Odds

Aaron Rodgers (+150): Rodgers makes good sense as the top choice. The Cal product had a rough go in the NFC Championship Game, but he has been red hot down the stretch. Rodgers has throw 11 touchdowns to three interceptions in Green Bay's last five games while completing 69 percent of his passes. Quarterbacks have also garnered 23 Super Bowl MVP awards, a number which puts them 16 trophies ahead of the next closest position (running back 7).

Ben Roethlisberger (+200): Big Ben is a rare quarterback in many ways, but the fact that he has presided over two Super Bowl winning teams and not won the game MVP is atypical indeed. If Pittsburgh captures a seventh Lombardi, Roethlisberger figures to get his first individual postseason accolade.

Troy Polamalu (+900): He has not performed that well in the playoffs, recording seven tackles, no sacks, no passes defended, and no interceptions, but the guy is a game changer nonetheless. Polamalu's freakish speed and athleticism puts him just one play away from possibly winning the game for Pittsburgh and the MVP trophy for himself.

Greg Jennings (+1200): Jennings is Rodgers favorite target and he is the Packers best deep threat. A long bomb or two, coupled with a touchdown may be enough for Jennings to win the award. He is also due for a score, the Western Michigan graduate has just one touchdown catch in the Packers last seven games and that came in week 15 against the Patriots.
