Packers vs Steelers Line 2011 Super Bowl

by Matt Foust on Saturday, February 5th, 2011

Tomorrow evening the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will play for it all as the two Super Bowl representatives square off at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will feature some of the biggest names in the NFL, including Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, and Charles Woodson, but they are all chasing after Lombardi, whose moniker adorns the NFL Championship trophy. Odds makers are predicting the team that Lombardi piloted to five championships, Green Bay, to reclaim football's biggest prize. The Green and Gold are listed as a -3 against the spread favorite in the latest Packers vs Steelers Line 2011 Super Bowl.

Green Bay came into the season with big Packers vs Steelers Line 2011 Super Bowlexpectations and whatever hopes the team had were backed up the odds makers. The Packers were favored by many sports books to win the NFC North as well as conference championship.

Those prognostications looked foolish early on, with Green Bay stumbling to a 3-3 start. But the team fought through its early daze and a myriad of injuries to secure the sixth seed in the NFC Playoffs with a 10-6 record.

Now Green Bay is on the cusp of pulling off what the Steelers did in 2006, that being a Super Bowl victory for the lowest seeded team.

The Steelers, while always viewed as a threat in the AFC North, were taking a backseat to the Baltimore Ravens in most preseason predictions. The loss of Ben Roethlisberger for the first four games of the season (violating the league's personal conduct policy) was viewed as an albatross around the team's neck.

Pittsburgh fought through those difficult circumstances, though, and won the division and the two seed in the AFC Playoffs after posting a 12-4 regular season record.

The Steelers avoided a postseason rematch with the Patriots, who handed Pittsburgh its worst loss of the season (26-39), but there is little doubt about this team's mettle. Pittsburgh beat two teams on par with Green Bay in Baltimore and New York in order to reach Super Bowl XLV.

The Packers certainly have a lot of momentum heading into tomorrow's game (five straight wins), but Pittsburgh represents their most difficult postseason challenge to date. Mike Tomlin's squad has no shortage of playoff experience and they will not be rattled by the Packers or the Super Bowl stage.

Packers vs Steelers Line 2011 Super Bowl:
