by Abe Luciano on Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Missing Boat with NFL Players Update Nick Schuyler Only Survivor: According to local St. Petersburg, FL, reports Nick Schuyler has been confirmed as the only survivor in the missing boat with NFL players, which didn’t return as expected from a fishing trip this past weekend.

Nick Schuyler has been airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where his eyes were open, considered in good condition, and even responded to reporters’ questions.

It has also been reported that the remaining 3 passengers were indeed wearing life jackets, which improves the chances of them being found alive, considering a person can survive at sea without water for approximately 2 days. His father, Stew Schuyler, spoke to reporters and said, “as soon as I see Nick I will come see you guys.”

Here’s what we do know courtesy of WTSP and 10 Connects in St. Petersburg, FL:

Update, 1:25 p.m. ET: WTSP said Nick Schuyler has landed at Tampa General Hospital. The station described him as alert with his eyes open. A photographer asked how Schuyler was doing, and he replied "all right."

Update, 1:42 p.m. ET: Coast Guard Capt. Timothy Close said he has no details on the whereabouts of the other three boaters, but he has been in contact with all of the families. Close said the boat was anchored at one point and then flipped. He sent officers to Tampa General Hospital to interview Schuyler to try to help the search for his friends.

Update, 1:53 p.m. ET: TBO.com has video of Schuyler being removed from a rescue basket on a Coast Guard helicopter and placed on a stretcher at the hospital.
