Kurt Warner Agrees to Contract with Arizona Cardinals: After the San Francisco 49ers wined and dinned him, the Arizona Cardinals said that’s enough, and finally agreed to a 2-year deal that would keep 2-time MVP quarterback Kurt Warner in the desert.

Although monetary terms of the deal were not disclosed, Warner’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, stated the contract was worth $23 million, out of which $19 million were guaranteed.

Warner, who will turn 38 in June, revitalized his career with the Cardinals after beating out former USC star Matt Leinart for the starting job.

Last season, Warner threw for 4,583 yards, 30 touchdowns, taking the improbable Arizona Cardinals to their first Super Bowl appearance in the franchise’s history.

When negotiations between the QB and the Cards came to a halt, Warner tested free agency and met with the 49ers. After meeting with the Niners, Warner directed Bartelstein to make another contract proposal to the Cardinals on Tuesday. The agent told the team that Warner would return to Arizona even though he could get more money elsewhere, and today they accepted.

After a great year, Warner was named to his 4th Pro Bowl, setting all kinds of passing records in the Arizona Cardinals’ history books. Coming in as [+7] Online Sports Betting Odds underdogs, Warner nearly had a storybook ending to his season, throwing for 377 yards and 3 touchdowns in an unexpected (27-23) close contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII.
