Browns Shaun Rogers Pleads Not Guilty to Felony Gun Charge: After getting arrested for having a loaded gun in his carry-on luggage at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland Browns tackle Shaun Rogers has pleaded no guilty to felony gun charge, according to various reports. Rogers claims he didn’t mean to take the gun into the airport, forgetting it was there before trying to board a flight to Texas on Thursday.

Rogers was arrested after attempting to pass a security checkpoint with a .45-caliber handgun in his bag. The 3-time Pro Bowler was taken into custody at 12:15 PM ET, transferred downtown where he was officially booked and charged with a third-degree felony.

Browns president Mike Holmgren released a statement, where the team acknowledged Rogers’ arrest. “We will continue to gather additional information, and until the legal process has taken its course, we will reserve any further comment,” the statement read.

According to Cleveland Police sergeant Sammy Morris, Rogers was held in a city jail overnight until Friday. After apologizing to his fans and teammates, Rogers entered his not guilty plea in a Cleveland Municipal Court through his attorney, Patrick D’Angelo. Rogers faces a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison.
