New York Jets Sign LB Jason Taylor: According to reports, linebacker Jason Taylor has agreed to sign with his former team’s worst nemesis, the New York Jets, says his agent Gary Wichard. There are indications that Taylor has agreed to a 2-year, $3.75 deal to sign with the surprising Jets, who were one win away from reaching the Super Bowl, last season. The 35-year-old, NFL’s active sacks leader (127½) is expected to fly to the Big Apple on Wednesday to sign the new deal.

Taylor is expected to make $1.75 million this upcoming season, and depending on his performance, could earn an additional $1.25 to $2 million in bonuses. In the second year, he is guaranteed to make $750,000, according to sources close to the organization.

Taylor had spent 12 of his 13 seasons playing with the Dolphins and has had a very rough relationship with Jets fans through the years. The 2006 Defensive Player of the Year has been quoted as calling Jets’ fans ignorant and classless. Nevertheless, Jets defensive end, Shaun Ellis believes New Yorkers will welcome him with open arms next season.

"I think our fans would embrace him," Ellis said. "They know the type of player he is. There may be some fans who wouldn't at first, but after a few weeks and he was on our team, I think they'd be really excited just to add another part like that to our defense."
