With Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long all wrapped up by the Miami Dolphins with the #1 overall draft selection the question on all the bettors minds now is: Who will the St. Louis Rams take at #2? LSU defensive tackle is the 10-17 odds on favorite to take the spot with Virginia defensive end Chris Long at 7-5 odds and all other selections at steep 5-1 odds. The Rams are in dire need of a lineman on both sides of the ball and their sack specialist on defense Leonard Little has been in steady decline. At 6'2" 300 Lbs. Glenn Dorsey is in the mold of a Warren Sapp with his all-around athletic ability and explosive intial quickness. Dorsey has had injury issues in the past however and his production on the field did suffer a slight drop-off last season with 7 sacks and 69 tackles. The 6'4" 265 Lb. Chris Long is somewhat of a hybrid player that could be either a defensive end or a outside linebacker with the versatility to be effective at either position. Long has a high-motor with long arms and good quickness with a timed 4.75 in the 40 yard dash and is coming off a 14 sack 79 tackle season. While Dorsey has been regarded as the best talent in the draft I get the feeling that St. Louis will take the more reliable edge rusher that they desperately need in Chris Long over Glenn Dorsey with their selection.
PLAY: Chris Long at 7-5 NFL Draft betting odds.
