2009 NFL Draft: The Wide Receiver position is the deepest it's been in years with at least 34 players looking to get picked in the 2009 NFL Draft's seven rounds. First among that group is Texas Tech phenom Michael Crabtree. With the fifth pick,The Cleveland Browns will probably draft Crabtree as the first receiver to come off the board.

The Oakland Raiders, also in need of receiving help will take another BIG 12 receiver in Jeremy Maclin of Missouri. Depending on what expert you talk to, Crabtree and Maclin are considered No. 1 and 1A in the group. Regardless of which one you draft; the benefits will be great.

The BIG 12 will provide the third straight receiver in the draft when Buffalo selects Tight End Brandon Pettigrew as the 11th overall pick. At Sports-Odds.com we are listing Tight End's as "receiver types". Some NFL teams consider the TE position as a glorified offensive lineman while others use the TE as a go-to receiver. Pettigrew is definately a Go-To receiver who will greatly improve the Bills passing game.

The next receiver on the board will probably be Maryland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey. The New York Jets could take Bey with the 17th pick unless they trade out of that position. Regardless, the next team needing a receiver will take Bey.

If our Mock Draft goes as planned the next two receivers, in no certain order, to be taken will be Hakeem Nicks of North Carolina and Kenny Britt of Rutgers. We, Sports-Odds.com, project Nicks will go to the Vikings as the 22nd pick and Britt to the Giants in the 29th spot.
