2009 NFL Mock Draft

by Steve Hastings on Saturday, April 25th, 2009

The football experts of Sports-Odds.com have gotten together and created our 2009 NFL Mock Draft to help football bettors looking for insight before betting on various NFL Draft Prop Bets. All of our football experts agreed that the Detroit Lions will select Georgia Bulldogs Quarterback Matt Stafford with the first selection of the 2009 NFL Draft later today.

2009 NFL Mock DraftThe real uncertainty in our 2009 NFL Mock Draft is what happens with the second overall pick. The St. Louis Rams have the 2nd overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft and will take one of the offensive linemen but the question is which one. It will be either OT Andre Smith of Alabama or OT Jason Smith of Baylor.

"The St. Louis Rams are still trying to decide between the boards top two offensive tackle's Andre Smith of Alabama or Jason Smith of Baylor," stated Sports-Odds.com Football Expert Benton Vale when asked to comment on the Sports-Odds.com 2009 NFL Mock Draft. "After cutting ties with aging All-Pro Orlando Pace in the off-season, it was a certainty the Rams would look to improve its line in the draft. And it's a matter of opinion who is the best."

The Kansas City Chiefs might go for OT Eugene Monroe of Virginia with the  3rd overall pick but this scenario could be disrupted now that they have traded TE Tony Gonzales. The Seattle Seahawks have the 4th overall 2009 NFL Draft selection and will take Southern California QB Mark Sanchez if he is not taken already. The more likely scenario is someone might trade up to get Sanchez above Seattle. If Seattle can't get Sanchez Sports-Odds.com expects the Seahawks to go with OLB Aaron Curry out of Wake Forest.

Do you think you know what the Seattle Seahawks plan on doing with their No. 4 pick? Positive the New York Jets plan on drafting a quarterback with pick 17? Sure a team will trade up to draft hot prospect Mark Sanchez? You’ll be able to bet on it all, and prove you’ve got uncanny draft knowledge with your profits. The 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft will be selected by the Cleveland Browns and we expect they will draft WR Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech in this spot. The Cincinnati Bengals will take one of those two lineman that St. Louis doesn't take at the 6th pick overall, either Andre Smith of Alabama or Jason Smith of Baylor. The Oakland Raiders have the 7th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and will take WR Jeremy Maclin of Missouri.

The 8th overall draft pick goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars and our experts believe they will select DT BJ Raji of Boston College. The Jaguars would have gone for a receiver if they didn't get wide receiver Torry Holt via Free Agency. ESPN.com reports the Jacksonville Jaguars could still select a wide receiver with the No. 8 overall pick in the NFL Draft despite the addition of Holt.

The 9th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft goes to the Green Bay Packers and Sports-Odds.com expects them to select OLB Brian Orakpo of Texas. The 10th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft goes to the San Francisco 49ers and our experts believe they will take OLB Aaron Maybin of Penn State.
