Sure most athletes have, less than impeccable reputations when it comes to their personal lives. And it would be redundant to say there are a lot of “troublemakers” in the NFL players’ community, in this era of American Football, without question. These guys just cannot escape the limelight, and are somehow constantly making national news (for all the wrong reasons). No matter how hard they try to lay low, trouble always seems to find them, and the media and the authorities always seem to find out about it (one way or the other). Then, there’s Colts Wide Receiver Marvin Harrison… the exception to the rule. The fine folks at BetUs.com came up with some interesting odds as to which NFL franchise is more likely to have one of their players arrested next; among other intriguing odds. In this day an age, athletes and celebrities can’t even go outside to check the mail, without someone either finding out, or without being harassed by the Paparazzi. That’s just the way it is. Lets just say it comes with the territory. But as they say, every rule has an exception. This exception has a name: Marvin Harrison.
The Colts superstar receiver has managed to avoid any bad publicity of any sort, for seemingly his entire professional football career… until now. Allegedly, Harrison has been somehow implicated in a gun shooting that occurred April 29, 2008 in the Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania. Apparently Harrison has confessed to being involved in a scuffle outside his car wash/garage. It is alleged the incident quickly escalated and there were six gun shots fired. Upon investigation, the police have found there were at least three victims in the shooting, including people in nearby residences where they found visible bullet holes. It had been reported the bullet cases found on the scene came from the wide receiver’s gun. The bullets fired seem to have some from a custom-made Belgian gun. When asked by authorities, Harrison admitted to owning such weapon, but refuted the allegations that he was present at the shooting by stating he never left his home in Philly. Harrison's representatives say Harrison was not present during the shooting, and that his gun was not involved. Harrison's attorney declined comment further. Police say they have no suspects in the case. Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham is taking over the case. BetUs.com has posted odds on the Team to have next player arrested:
