If you are looking for the latest 2012 Super Bowl Lines you already know the NFL is still locked in a state of labor disarray at this juncture, but most football fans are at least hoping, praying, anticipating that cooler heads and better judgement will prevail in the on-going negotiations between the league and its players. Certainly football bookmakers are expecting a positive result in the highly public spat, their latest 2012 Super Bowl Lines serving as a testament to the belief that America's new pastime will, indeed, carry on without interruption. Odds makers also expect the defending World Champion Packers to hit the ground running when the season officially kicks off, be it September or November. Green Bay is currently listed as a +600 moneyline favorite to retain the Lombardi Trophy.
NFC Favorite – Green Bay Packers (+600):
While Super Bowl repeats are rare, they are certainly not without precedent. Eight teams have managed to record back-to-back championships, including the Packers, which did it in 1967-68. Given all the injury woes Green Bay survived last season, it only makes sense that they would be the favorite when healthy. The Packers also have a legitimate super star under center in Aaron Rodgers, who proved during the regular season and playoffs that he is every bit the equal of the Brett Favre of old. There is nothing not to like about this team other than a schedule that features meetings with Atlanta, New Orleans, New York (Giants), Tampa Bay, San Diego, and Kansas City in addition to its regular slate of NFC North games, which appear far more daunting with Detroit now trying to win.
AFC Favorite – New England Patriots (+600): It's been two consecutive years of playoff failure in New England, an unlikely development for a team and head coach that have become synonymous with Super Bowl success. Even more surprising is the fact that the Patriots have fallen flat at home in the playoffs after posting a 16-0 regular season record at Gillette Stadium over the past two years. Despite the unexpected postseason slip ups, New England still remains the class of the AFC as demonstrated by its wins over New York (Jets), Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Baltimore last season. A 14-2 record may not be in order, but Tom Brady and company will find their way into the playoffs where they are always a threat to do some damage.
