Strife between NFL owners and players continues, but in anticipation that the two parties will, indeed, get things resolved, football odds makers have released their NFL Week 1 Odds. The opening slate features several exciting matchups, including divisional battles between Pittsburgh and Baltimore, Indianapolis and Houston, and New England and Miami. Also on the docket is a Thursday night special between the last two Super Bowl winners, the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. Sports Betting Odds currently have the Packers listed as a -5 against spread favorite in the official season opener.
New Orleans Saints vs Green Bay Packers 
(-5): If nothing else this should be a highly entertaining game as two of the best offenses in the league will be on display. Star power will be ample as well with the likes of Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, and Marques Colston roaming the gridiron. The Saints, with a few exceptions, were a stellar road team last year, going 6-2 away from home in the regular season. New Orleans lost a turnover laden affair at Arizona and they fell 24-30 to the Ravens at Baltimore. The Saints also dropped a Wild Card Playoff stunner 36-41 at Seattle. The Packers went 7-1 at Lambeau last season, their only loss coming in overtime against Miami (23-20). Green Bay's seven home wins came by an average of 17.7 points per game.
Atlanta Falcons vs Chicago Bears (0): These two division winners combined to go 24-8 last season, but the pair went 1-2 in postseason play, despite both of them having first round byes. If each team stays true to last year's form, this should be a strength versus strength matchup. Atlanta ranked fifth in the league last season with a 25.9 point per game average while the Bears yielded an average of just 17.9 per contest (fourth best in the league). With the line being even, Chicago seems like the better play given the fact the Bears are hosting the high profile skirmish.
