The last few days have seen a media frenzy surrounding recently retired Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre. It appears that the future Hall of Famer is having second thoughts about his decision to call it a career. Betting odds at Sportsbook.com have listed Favre's odds of returning as +250 Yes and -400 No. Favre has down played the speculation as hear say and rumor, but a number of sources have reported that the Mississippi native is in discussions with Packers officials about a possible return. At this point, it might be a bag of mixed emotions for both Packer players and administration. Favre has been the face of the franchise for over a decade and he played at a high level last season; however, the team no doubt started to go in a different direction after Favre's retirement press conference. The heir to Favre's throne, Aaron Rogers, is without question interested in what the team might do. If Favre does come out of retirement and inherits his old position, Rogers would likely have some negative feelings toward the Packers and the coaching staff. Favre is still under contract with Green Bay so that element of discussions should be minimal between Favre and the club. NFL Betting odds at Sportsbook.com currently list the Packers with 9-1 odds of winning the NFC Championship Game without Favre.
