The New England Patriots are still being regarded as the team to beat in the AFC at +150 odds. Not surprisingly the Indianapolis Colts, at +500 odds, are another favorite to take the 2009 AFC championship. Nipping at the heels Patriots, however, is the San Diego Chargers at +400 odds. The Chargers finished strong in 2007 and will bank on a talented but inconsistent quarterback in Philip Rivers. Another early 2009 AFC championship betting odds contender is the Jacksonville Jaguars. The best longshot bet on the board looks to be the Mike Shanahan coached Denver Broncos at +2000 odds.
