College Football Predictions Washington State Cougars PAC 10 Conference 2008: With a 2007 record of 5-7 (3-6), first year head coach, Paul Wulff (53-40 overall record), will have to find a solution and a way to run this offense minus all the turnovers. They did however managed to put up a lot of yards, and this upcoming season, Cougars fans can expect more of the same.

Coach Wulff will also have to figure out a way to improve on a defense that surrendered 418 yards per game last season. Key returning players such as DE Andy Mattingly will make Wulff’s job a bit easier. College Football Predictions: Washington State Cougars PAC 10 Conference 2008

The weak link for WSU this upcoming season will likely be on the defensive end. Last year, they were bad, and this season the Cougars will have 8 starting defense players returning to the program.

The biggest concerns for defensive coordinators, Chris Ball and Jody Sears, are definitely in the secondary. They will look to change things around to see what works best, and how they can improve from last year’s terrible passing "D". The Washington State Cougars' betting odds to win the PAC 10 Conference in 2008 are +5000

Wulff’s no huddle offense might take a bit to get used to, but once the new system is implemented, the Cougars will be up and running. WR Brandon Gibson will be a key player in this off. scheme. I look for Gibson to improve from his last seasons' 67 grabs for 1,180 yards and 9 TDs. Gary Rogers will be taking over QB duties for the now departed Alex Brink.

Last season WSU finished their season off on a bit of a sour note, as they failed to qualify for any Bowl game. This upcoming season, they’ll try to get off to a better start, as the slate has been wiped clean with the arrival of Paul Wulff.
