Last season the Titans started to see the results of a rebuilding project that began several years ago. Head Coach Jeff Fisher guided his squad to a 10-6 finish and back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2003 season. However, Tennessee will need Vince Young to rebound from a sub-par year if they are going to have a shot at the AFC South title. NFL Betting odds at SBGglobal are not giving the Titans much of a chance to win the tough division at +850 odds.

The Tennessee offense struggled to find its form most of last season. Vince Young felt his way through a difficult sophomore year as teams worked diligently to counter his play making abilities. The result was a 22nd ranked 18.8 point per game average and a 27th ranked 179.9 yards passing per game average.

The Titan ground game, however, made up for some of the short comings in the passing attack. A combination of Tennessee backs, led by LenDale White, averaged 131.8 yards rushing per game. The offensive line was solid for the club and should make plenty of holes again this year for White and first round draft pick Chris Johnson out of East Carolina.NFL Predictions:Tennessee Titans AFC South Preview

2008 should see the Titans progress offensively. Young's experiences last season will aid him this year, and the former Rookie of the Year will have a couple of new targets in receiver Justin McCareins and tight end Alge Crumpler. There was also the second half emergence of wide out Justin Gage last season. If Gage can post the same kind of numbers in 2008 that he did in the second half of last season, he could become Young's go to guy.

Tennessee's defense was stellar in almost every capacity last year. Most importantly though, the team held opponents to 18.6 points per game and just 92.4 yards rushing per game. The Titans have the personnel inplace to duplicate or even improve these numbers this season.

The team did lose a few defensive bodies, including defensive end Antwan Odom, but their entire core pieces are still in place. Tennessee also brought Jevon Kearse back this off season. If Kearse can resemble the player he was early in his career, the Titan defensive line could be the best in the league. With Albert Haynesworth mixing it up in the middle and Kyle Vanden Bosch at the other end, Kearse will certainly have some one-on-one match-ups to exploit.

NFL Betting odds at SBGglobal.com have the Titans at +4000 odds to win the Super Bowl and +2000 odds to win the conference. The teams win total is set at 8 with the over a -120.
