The Huskies finished last season with a 4-9 (2-7) record, even though they had some good talent on board. This upcoming season however, they will have to deal with key losses, as some of these youngsters will have to step up to the challenge.

The good news for Washington is that they’ll have a dependable QB for at least a few more years, because Jake Locker will only be a sophomore this season. After having a decent freshman year, Locker need to learn to become a better passer rather than tucking it in all the time, and running with the rock. Last season he threw 14 touchdowns, but 15 INTs. In 2008 he will need to be more careful with the football and cut down on his turnovers. He needs to become a more accurate passer, rather than always doing the HB's and FB's job.
The weakest link for the Huskies last season was their D. The Washington-defense ranked near the bottom of the PAC 10 in every major statistical category. However, they do have some pieces to build around such as: LB E.J. Savannah (111 tackles), DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim (8½ sacks), and S Mesphin Forester (2 INTs).
