New York Giants Trade TE Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans Saints: The reigning Super Bowl Champions, the New York football Giants, have finally granted Jeremy Shockey’s wish: to be traded from the organization. ESPN has officially announced that the deal is in place and will go thru, sending Shockey to the “Big Easy” in exchange for a 2nd round pick and a 5th round pick.

Of course, this trade is pending the Commissioner’s approval, and Shockey must pass a physical. How many games will the New Orleans Saints win in this upcoming 2008-2009 NFL regular season? SportsBook.com has the answer. New York Giants Trade TE Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans Saints

This marks the second big-name player to pack his bags in less than 24-hour span (with the first of course being Jason Taylor).

After Shockey was sidelined with an injury (broken foot) last season, rookie TE Kevin Boss stepped up and had a monster season for the Giants, which culminated in the huge upset of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

The betting odds that the New Orleans Saints will win OVER 8½ games in the 2008-2009 NFL regular season are -150.

Shockey had become dissatisfied with the organization and had been wanting out for some time now. The Giants felt it was absolutely necessary to move Shockey; it was only a matter of time. The betting odds that the New Orleans Saints will win UNDER 8½ in the 2008-2009 NFL regular season are +120.

It has been reported that Shockey was becoming a huge distraction on the team, as he engaged in public heated discussions with the G-men’s General Manager, Jerry Reese. However, the Giants' organization had also become fed up with the ex-Miami Hurricane. It is rumored that Shockey was furious at the team, as he was not allowed to even stand in the New York Giants' sidelines during last year’s Super Bowl XLII in Phoenix, AZ.
