Stanford Cardinal PAC 10 Conference 2008 College Football Predictions: Despite finishing with a 4-8 (3-6) record and without a Bowl game last season, head coach Jim Harbaugh, has plenty to smile about in 2008. Last season, the Stanford Cardinal were able to beat two noticeable opponents in the PAC 10, giving them plenty of confidence and momentum going forward. The Stanford defense will be the main ingredient for the Cardinal's success this upcoming season. The return of LB Clint Snyder (junior) is terrific news for defensive coordinators, Andy Buh and Ron Lynn. Last season, Snyder was a force to be reckoned, registering 96 tackles and 8 sacks. This upcoming season, the Stanford “D” will have a majority of its starters returning to the program. In 2007, the D ranked ninth in the PAC 10 but attained some valuable experience. At BetUS.com the Stanford Cardinal’s betting odds to win the PAC 10 Conference in 2008 are +3,000. This season, 9 starters will be back with a year under their belt, as they look to make significant improvements from last season. Snyder is not the only LB that teams will have to adjust to, LBs Pat Maynor and Chike Amajoyi, are sure to make this defense that much stronger at that position. The weak link for Stanford this season will be their offense. With the departures of QB Ostrander and WRs Evan Moore and Mark Bradford, offensive coordinator, David Shaw, certainly has some voids to fill.
