College Football Predictions Florida State Seminoles ACC Preview 2008: Of course everyone is aware of the academic scandal that occurred at FSU last season regarding the football program. At BetUS.com the Florida State Seminoles’ betting odds to win the BCS National Championship in 2009 are +5000.

Hence, Bobby Bowden (300-87-4 at FSU, 373-119-4 overall) will have to deal with early suspensions to start the 2008 campaign. However, these personnel problems should play out just fine, considering who FSU will face the first couple of weeks.

The Seminoles will take on Western Carolina and Chattanooga on their first two games of the ’08 campaign with mostly bench players available. Nevertheless, that should be too much of a concern for FSU. The Florida State Seminoles’ betting odds to win the ACC in 2008 are +450.

The key this season for the Seminoles will unquestionably be their defense. Defensive coordinator, Mickey Andrews, will have the luxury of having (LB) Derrick Nicholson (99 tackles), (DE) Everette Brown (6½ sacks), (CBs) Patrick Robinson (6 INTs) and Tony Carter (4 INTs). FSU will certainly have a stacked, experienced defensive unit that will surely aid in their success in 2008.

FSU’s weakness however, is also on the defensive side of the football. The biggest question marks for Andrews (DC) this upcoming season will be at the line. Questions still linger about how ex-LB will feel in his new DE position. Everette Brown, who put up some impressive numbers with limited playing time, will have to produce with the same effectiveness with which he operated last season.
