Miami Hurricanes ACC Preview 2008 College Football Predictions: After one year under his belt, Hurricanes’ head coach, Randy Shannon (5-7) is hoping 2008 is the year the Canes make it back to a Bowl game. However, the road to success will not be an easy one, to say the least. At SportsBook.com the Miami Hurricanes’ betting odds to win the BCS National Championship game in 2009 are 100 – 1.

The Canes’ coaching and recruiting staff will have their work cut out, as they will have to find replacements for so many starters. In fact, this upcoming season, the Canes will only have 4 starters returning on offense, and 4 returning defenders.

For a depleted defense, the 2008 campaign will be a very exciting one for defensive coordinator, Bill Young. With so many extremely talented freshmen filling in, this upcoming season will be one full of anticipation and exhiliration.

Players that are expected to make immediate impacts are: LBs Sean Spence and Arthur Brown, and DT Marcus Forston. In this College Football Predictions: the Miami Hurricanes' betting odds ML to win the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2008 are +350

On the offensive side of the ball, the Canes will be able to count on experienced returning players such as: RBs Graig Cooper (682 rushing yards), and Javarris James. Even though they didn’t put up monster numbers last season, they were the most productive offensive weapons at their position.

Continuing with the Canes’ offense is the QB situation. The void left by Kyle Wright will most likely be filled without too much trouble. The frontrunners for this spot are two freshmen: Robert Marve and Jacory Harris. In the spring, the one QB who stood out, and made the most impact on the U's coaching staff -and who will probably be starting- was Robert Marve.
