College Football Predictions Oklahoma Sooners Big 12 Conference Preview 2008: For the two last consecutive seasons, the Oklahoma Sooners haven’t been able to finish off their season with a Bowl win. In 2006, Boise State got the best of OU in the Fiesta Bowl. And last season, the Sooners were blown out (28-48) by West Virginia. At SportsBook.com the Oklahoma Sooners have the third best betting odds (5 - 1) to win the BCS National Championship game in 2009.

The only two teams in the entire nation with better betting odds to win the BCS National Championship game in 2009 are the USC Trojans, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Despite finishing last season with a terrific overall mark of 11-3 (6-2), there has to be a bitter taste in the mouths of Oklahoma players, and fans alike.

But even more of a concern for head coach, Bob Stoops (97-22) this upcoming season, is how are they going to replace three key players that were drafted in the 2008 NFL Draft. The Oklahoma State Sooners are the betting odds favorite at 3 - 2 to win the Big 12 Conference in 2008.

The strength for the Sooners this upcoming season will be their offense. Anchoring the offensive attack is sophomore QB, Sam Bradford, who last season led the nation is passing efficiency with his 3,121 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just 8 interceptions. But that’s not all, because the entire offensive line will be returning this season, which means last season numbers, may very well be topped in '08. In 2007, the Sooners’ scored an average of 42 points per game (5th in the nation, 2nd in the Big 12).

The only area for concern for OU this upcoming season, will be filling in the voids left by LB Curtis Lofton, and CB Reggie Smith, who both left early and were drafted to the NFL.
