College Football Predictions: Colorado Buffaloes Big 12 Conference Preview 2008: Last season the Colorado Buffaloes finished their season 6-7 (4-4). They made it to the Independence Bowl last year despite having a very tough schedule, but lost 24-30 to Alabama. At SBGglobal.com the Colorado Buffaloes’ betting odds ML to win the BCS National Championship game in 2009 are +7500. Some of the key returnees for Colorado include: QB Cody Hawkins, RB Demetrius Sumler, WR Scotty McKnight, S Daniel Dykes, DT George Hypolite, and many more. Even though a 6-7 season is not an ideal one for head coach Dan Hawkins (8-17 at Colorado, 100-40-1 overall), the fact that they were eligible for a Bowl game was quite an accomplishment. However, they must improve from that, moving forward. The Colorado Buffaloes’ betting odds to win the Big 12 Conference in 2008 are +1000. Although last year’s defense wasn’t great –allowing just under 400 yards per game– it was certainly good enough for playing in the Big XII. This upcoming season they will have to replace LB Jordon Dizon, and CB Terrence Wheatley, but other than that, they do have eight starters returning to the program. The betting odds ML for the Colorado Buffaloes to win OVER 6 games in the upcoming 2008 season is -110. QB Cody Hawkins, who last season threw for 3,015 passing yards, must bring his interceptions down this season. Scott McKnight and Josh Smith must step up and become consistent targets for Hawkins to have continued success. The betting odds ML for the Colorado Buffaloes to win UNDER 6 games in the upcoming 2008 season is -120.
