According to reports, the 18-year veteran broke the news, as he has declined to join the Vikings this NFL season through a text message to the NFL Network, just before 6 PM ET (3 PM PT). Minnesota Vikings’ head coach Brad Childress stated that Favre didn't want to put himself through the grind of what would have been a 19th NFL season.
