Brett Favre Stays Retired Declines Minnesota Vikings: It seems that the everlasting yearly saga of quarterback Brett Favre coming out of retirement has finally ended, as today, Favre himself has stated that he will not come out of retirement and he will not be playing for the Minnesota Vikings this upcoming season… Wow!

According to reports, the 18-year veteran broke the news, as he has declined to join the Vikings this NFL season through a text message to the NFL Network, just before 6 PM ET (3 PM PT). Currently and without Favre, the Minnesota Vikings [+1200 ML] have the 5th best sports betting odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl Predictions XLIV in Miami, Florida

Minnesota Vikings’ head coach Brad Childress stated that Favre didn't want to put himself through the grind of what would have been a 19th NFL season.

"I just think it was a rare opportunity to explore a Hall of Fame quarterback who had background in the NFC and in this division (with the Green Bay Packers)," Childress stated.

"He knows our system inside out … This doesn't change anything about how I feel about our football team."
The future Hall of Famer retired for the second time after playing for the New York Jets last season.

Favre underwent surgery last May to alleviate a torn biceps tendon. He will apparently finish his NFL career with 65,127 passing yards, 464 touchdowns, 310 interceptions, and a career passer rating of 85.4."It was the hardest decision I've ever made," the 39-year-old Favre said. "I didn't feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable. I would like to thank everyone, including the Packers, Jets and Vikings — but, most importantly, the fans."
