The Redskins and the Colts set off this 2008 NFL Preseason schedule in what will feel more like a scrimmage game than anything else. The Colts will be without the services of QB Peyton Manning and WR Marvin Harrison.

Manning, who is recovering from an off-season medical procedure (to remove an infected bursa sack from his left knee), has missed all of the Colts training camp thus far, and will also miss Sunday’s game.

Manning’s favorite target, Marvin Harrison, will also be unavailable to play Sunday, due to ongoing recovery after having surgery on both of his knees. Both players’ recuperation appear to be right on schedule, and they are both expected to play in the 2008-2009 NFL season opener.

One bright note in this game will be the NFL Preseason Redskins debut of Jason Taylor. The All-Pro DE was traded to the Miami Dolphins earlier this off-season, and there’s no indication that he will not be suiting up for this one.
