Plaxico Burress Indicted on Weapons Charges: The ongoing Plaxico Burress saga continues. On Monday, prosecutors announced that the former New York Giants wide receiver has been indicted by a grand jury on weapons charges stemming from his accidental, self-shooting at a Manhattan nightclub last Novermber.
According to Manhattan District Attorney, Robert Morgenthau, Burress was indicted on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment. “A grand jury applied the law to the facts of this case,” Morgenthau said.

As far as Burress’ former teammate (LB) Antonio Pierce is concerned, the grand jury ruled not to indict him for his involvement in the night of the shooting and no one else is expected to face charges in the case. Both Burress and Pierce testified before the grand jury.
The 31-year-old wide out, who faces up to 3½ to 15 years in prison and is currently free on $100,000 bail, has expressed remorse for his actions. “I was truthful, I was honest, and I’m truly remorseful for what I’ve done and for what happened,” Burress said.
