Brett Favre Reinstated by the NFL, Now What?: Well, it appears that the situation between future Hall of Famer, Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers, will take the turn for the worse. Clearly, the Packers have made it known that they don’t want Favre on their team. So why insist on playing for someone that doesn’t want you to play for them? Which team will win this year’s NFC North division in the upcoming 2008-2009 NFL regular season? Get your answer now at SportsBook.com.
Ever since Brett Favre hinted (he had an itch) he wanted to return to play, the Green Bay Packers have sounded like a broken record: “Aaron Rogers is our quarterback.”
Then comes Brett Favre, one of the greatest of all time and certainly the greatest to ever put on a Green Bay Packers’ uniform, and decides he indeed wants to return. So what comes next, after Favre gets reinstated Monday at 1 PM ET? The Minnesota Vikings have the best betting odds to win the NFC North in the upcoming 2008-2009 NFL regular season at -120.
Brett Favre and his wife arrived in Green Bay Sunday evening, where a crowd of fans gathered welcome the future Hall of Famer with chants of “We Want Favre.” So, this is the awkward scenario for Monday: Favre will make his first appearance at the Packers training camp soon after 1 PM ET, which is when he’ll be reinstated by the NFL, and added to the active roster at around 1 PM ET. The Green Bay Packers' betting odds (ML) of winning the NFC North in the upcoming 2008-2009 NFL regular season are +200.
Soon thereafter, Favre will take a physical examination, and a conditioning test. According to the Packers, they will have open QB competitions between Favre and Aaron Rogers for the starting spot (the way it should have been from day 1), and the best man will get the job. Rogers has this to say about the current situation, and after learning the news:
“I’m a competitor. I’m going to compete… this isn’t going to be easy. It’s going to be a dogfight. And I know that if they do open it up for competition, not a lot of people give me a chance, but I believe in myself and I’m going to be the best I can be and let coach decide from here.”
