Raiders Coach Tom Cable Punches Randy Hanson, Breaks Jaw? Over the last few years, the Oakland Raiders organization has been more like a never-ending episode of The Real World: chaotic, stupid, and very repetitive. But with new management in place, the Raiders will live happily ever after in their Black Hole, right? Wrong!
In fact, things in Raider Nation have gone from bad to worse, if that’s even possible! It’s not Bill Romanowski, going on a Roid-Rage during practice and literally breaking his teammates face with his bare hands. No, instead it’s the head coach, Tom Cable dishing out the punishment, this according to various reports.
It all happened on August 6 at the Napa Valley Marriot in peaceful Napa Valley, CA, when Cable reportedly socked defensive assistant Randy Hanson and fractured his jaw in the process. According to an unnamed source, "Hanson never saw it coming."
"The victim didn't even want any police action taken," Napa Police Lt. Brian McGovern said. “but we were following hospital policy that authorities be contacted in cases where there may have been an assault."
According to McGovern, the Napa Police consider the matter closed, "unless we are re-contacted by the victim, and the victim changes their mind that they want us to follow through and pursue an investigation. At this point we're not doing anything else with it."
