2010 NFL Preseason Betting Odds Week 2: It is official ladies and gentleman, Brett Favre is back as the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, which has to bother the heck out of everyone hoping to dethrone the NFC North champions. After much speculation, No.4 is back in camp with his teammates, as he prepares for what will likely be his last hoorah. The 3-time MVP participated in light practices today, as he was seen by most people for the first time since losing to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC championship game.
“As we were driving on that last drive it seemed like it was destiny—for us,” Favre said of that eventful evening. “I was so close, so close to getting these guys to the Super Bowl.Favre went on to share a little bit about how coming back for a 20th season was like. The 40-year-old described it as anything but easy.
“I could make a case for both playing, not playing,” he stated. “This is a very good football team, the chances here are much greater than other places. From that standpoint, it was always going to be easier (to return).
“Part of me said it was such a great year, it would be easy to say, ‘Hey can’t play any better, why even try?’ Then the other part is, ‘Guys are playing on a high level. Why don’t I go back out?’ The expectations are high here, as they should be.”This week, the Minnesota Vikings [+3½] will be traveling to old Candlestick Park, in the East Bay to take on the sports betting odds favorite San Francisco 49ers [-3½].
“There is nothing on me that’s 100 percent, there wasn’t anything that was 100 percent last year or the year before,” Favre said. “The surgery made me a little better. I have played 309 straight games, I can’t complain.”
