This game is set to kick off at 5 PM ET and 2010 NFL Preseason Week 3 experts expect the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions to combine and score an OVER/UNDER total of 38 points at night’s end.
For the Browns, they’ve had some players step up during the 2010 NFL Preseason. One of the guys making the most noise early on is 3rd year running back Peyton Hillis.
"It was good to see the things he can do as a runner," Browns coach Eric Mangini said of his young back. "It was good to see things you remember him doing, which were reasons for the trade. He gives you a spark as a tough, physical guy."
The Arkansas product pulled off one of the most sensational plays of the 2010 NFL Preseason, when he broke six tackles on a powerful 9-yard run, as the Browns for their first touchdown of 2010. "We got fired up seeing that," said Cleveland center Alex Mack. "Anytime you see one of your guys running downhill, running over people, you just love it."
For the Lions, they got some bad news this week, when they were forced to place defensive end Jared DeVries on season-ending injured reserve. DeVries underwent arthroscopic knee surgery two days after the announcement was made. The 12-year veteran was hoping to be back to playing football, but the Lions didn’t reserve a spot for him despite his agent Mark Bartelstein claiming his client would be back “in a few weeks.”
