Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings Odds 2010 NFL Preseason Week 3: For a second consecutive year, Brett Favre has joined the (1-1) Minnesota Vikings [-5] during the second week of the 2010 NFL Preseason. After playing just one series last week against the San Francisco 49ers, we are sure to see a lot of No.4 tonight, when the Vikings host the sports betting odds underdog (1-1) Seattle Seahawks [+5].
Mall of America Field will be the site for this much-anticipated 2010 NFL Preseason game in which Favre could
play as much as three quarters of football. The Seahawks and Vikings are set to kick things off tonight at 8 PM ET (7 PM CT/5 PM PT). according to 2010 NFL Preseason Week 3 Betting Odds makers at BODOG.com, the OVER/UNDER between Seattle and Minnesota has been set at a combined total of 38 points scored.
After putting up gaudy numbers a year ago with his 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, Favre will have to readjust. With his two favorite targets from last season — Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin — suffering from separate injuries and illnesses, Favre is going to have to find other guys to get the ball to.
"Percy's situation is kind of iffy," Favre said. "We expect big things from him, bigger than last year. He has to take care of himself first."
Rice will miss the first half of the season after undergoing hip surgery, and Harvin continues to suffer from migraine headaches.
"Not a lot different than last year, as far as chemistry is concerned," Favre said this week following practice. "It would have been nice to come in and go to bat with the guys that we finished with last year, but that is part of football. Every coach will say the same thing. Regardless of who is put in there, we have to play the same way."
As far as Rice is concerned, the Pro Bowler appeared to have tweaked his injured hip during minicamp in June. "I really felt like at some point here in training camp he would be able to go," Favre said. "Obviously, that's not the case. Probably like most people, I was pretty optimistic that he would be OK."
The decision to undergo surgery came after an MRI showed a problem that could have significantly shorten his playing career. At that point, the decision became a no-brainer for Rice.
"Once the doc got in there and checked everything out, he said having the surgery was the best move I could have made, so I don't regret it now," Rice wrote. "He said it could have been much worse if I would have tried to play on it during the season. He said it could have been my last year of playing football, so I know I made the right decision."
