2011 College Football Top 25 Rankings Week 2: The Oklahoma University Sooners remained No. 1 in the 2011 College Football Top 25 Rankings Week 2 in both major college football polls, AP and USA-Today/Coaches released Tuesday afternoon. LSU leap-frogged over Alabama to No. 2 in the AP but replaced Oregon at No. 3 in the Coaches Poll while Alabama remained No. 2. By virtue of their impressive victory over Georgia in the Chick-fil-A College kickoff, Boise State moved to No. 4 in the AP and No. 5 Coaches. For Florida State the order was reversed, 4th Coaches and 5th AP.
Baylor was a winner on the field and in the AP Poll jumping to 20th while TCU dropped to the bottom but still ranked at No-25. West Virginia was left out of the preseason Coaches Poll but debuted at 24 but moved up to 19 AP. Also making its debut in either poll is Arizona State voted 23rd by the Coaches but left outside looking in by the AP.
Both polls agree on Stanford ranked No. 6 but vary slightly on 7-8-9. At No. 7 AP is Texas A&M while 7 Coaches is Oklahoma State. Wisconsin is No. 8 AP while Texas A&M is 8th in the Coaches. Oklahoma State occupies the 9th spot in the AP and Wisconsin in Coaches. The polls agree on Nebraska at 10.
