College Football Odds 2011 Week-2: Once college football week 1 played itself out, I could hardly wait for college football odds 2011 Week-2 to post. I use the first week to get a picture of how I think the season might go. Always, overrated teams are exposed and underrated teams are hailed. Week-1 was only in its second day when the Baylor Bears exposed a 14th ranked TCU squad that’s obviously diminished from the team that defeated Wisconsin last January in the Rose Bowl. As a home underdog Baylor jumped to a big lead and hung on for a SU victory sending the Horned Frogs home, their BCS hopes shattered. Defending BCS Champs Auburn Tigers looked like a different team without Cam Newton running the Tigers offense. Utah State showed up ready to play and nearly pulled a SU upset.
Week-2 gets off the ground in Stillwater, Okla., Thursday night with a Pac-12/Big 12 matchup between the No. 9 (AP) Oklahoma State Cowboys and Arizona Wildcats. Against Louisiana Lafayette the Pokes were 61-34 SU winners in their Saturday home opener, but failed to cover as -34 point favorites. Arizona defeated FCS level school Northern Arizona 41-10 in a non-lined game. Oddsmakers at JustBet.cx has the Cowboys by -14 in this one. Friday offers another Pac-12/Big 12 matchup between the Missouri Tigers and Arizona State Sun Devils. Arizona State was a 48-14 winner over FCS UC Davis non-lined game while No. 21 Missouri entertained Miami(Ohio) getting a SU 17-6 victory falling short of a cover ATS lined 19-chalk favorites.
Saturday's card is loaded with interesting matchups and betting odds. Is Mississippi State underlined as 6 1/2-chalk favorites at Auburn? The Bulldogs were very impressive in last weeks 59-14 road victory over Memphis easily covering ATS as 29-chalk favorites.
Is Georgia in trouble hosting South Carolina as a 3-chalk home underdog? It not often the Bulldogs are underdogs between the hedges but they are Saturday. The Bears were schooled in Week-1 by Kellen Moore and the Boise State Broncos.
No. 2 Alabama dominated Kent State as they were expected to do in its opener in Tuscaloosa Saturday. The Crimson Tide face stiffer competition when they visit Happy Valley for a game with Penn State. Bama is lined 9 1/2 chalk favorites in this one.
