NFL Week 2 Predictions: After a very strange NFL Week 1, which was filled with big upsets and devastating injuries, comes a second batch of games. By far the biggest news after opening-day is the demoralizing season-ending knee injury that New England Patriots QB Tom Brady suffered on Sunday. That one injury alone, creates a domino effect of things to change in the NFL’s: MVP race, divisional seeding, and of course Super Bowl props.

So was it a dirty play, or not? That’s something that will continuously be asked in the upcoming weeks, especially by fans in the New England area. At SportsBook.com, you can now check opening lines, and up to the minute betting odds for Week 2 of the 2008-2009 NFL regular season.

As a result of Tom Brady’s injury and with QB Matt Cassel at the helm, the (1-0) New England Patriots are +2½ NFL betting odds underdogs in their Week 2 meeting with Brett Favre and the (1-0) New York Jets -2½ and the OVER/UNDER at 36 total points.

In another Week 2, 1 PM ET game, the (1-0) New Orleans Saints are +1 NFL betting odds underdogs against the (0-1) Washington Redskins (-1), and the OVER/UNDER set at a combined total of 42½ points. The Saints barely escaped their home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (24-20). Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins look to bounce back after being defeated by the Super Bowl champs, New York Giants (7-16).

In another intriguing Week 2, 1 PM ET match-up, the (1-0) Chicago Bears are +3 betting odds underdogs when they visit the -3 NFL betting odds favorites (1-0) Carolina Panthers. The OVER/UNDER in this game has been set at a total of 37½ points. In Week 1, the Bears shocked the Colts (29-13), and the Panthers sneaked passed the Chargers (26-24).

And finally, on Monday Night Football (Sept. 15th), it’s the first meeting of the season between WR T.O. and QB Donovan McNabb. In this game, the (1-0) Philadelphia Eagles are +6½, visiting NFL betting odds underdogs, against the high-powered (1-0) Dallas Cowboys -6½. This game is expected to have plenty of scoring, as the OVER/UNDER has been set at a total of 47 points. These teams both had wins going away, as the Eagles crushed the Rams (38-3), and the Cowboys dismantled the Browns (28-10).
