NFL Week 2 Point Spreads: With the many surprising finishes of the NFL Week 1, one can easily make the argument that the 30-12 thrashing the (1-0-0) Chicago Bears gave the (0-1-0) Atlanta Falcons ranked among the most surprising. Going into the opener as the sports betting odds underdogs against the Falcons, the Bears utilized their defense to force turnovers and come away with a dominating victory.

Chicago utilized pressure to neutralize Matt Ryan’s ability to get into the end zone, forcing him to throw one interceptions and coughed up a costly fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Bears linebacker, Brian Urlacher. The Bears defense had some game, as they sacked Ryan a total of 5 times, two of which were claimed by Julius Peppers.

"It's a good start," Urlacher said after the game. "We've got a ways to go. We made some mistakes, me included. Our offense played great today. I know they're going to say they didn't do this and that, but they kept us on the sideline for the most part."

With the defense setting the tone, the Bears offense went to work. Jay Cutler connected on 22 of his 32 pass attempts for a total of 312 yards and 2 touchdowns, while throwing a pick. Cutler, who finished with a quarterback rating of 107.8, did the best he could to erase the controversy of last season’s NFC Championship game.

Cutler was severely criticized after departing the game due to a knee injury, which later turned out to be a serious one. The Bears will have very little time to enjoy this victory, however, as they’re  sure to be tested next week when they travel to the Big Easy to take on the 2009 Super Bowl champion Saints.

According to NFL Odds makers, the Chicago Bears [+6½] will go into this NFL Week 2 Point Spreads as the sports betting odds underdogs to the (0-1-0) New Orleans Saints [-6½]. The OVER/UNDER for that contest, which is scheduled for Sunday at 1 PM ET, is set at a combined total of 47 points. New Orleans is coming off a disappointing Week 1 loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers, 34-42.
