Philadelphia Eagles Sign Quarterback Jeff Garcia: With the unfortunate rib injury sustained by All-Pro quarterback Donovan McNabb last Sunday in Carolina the Philadelphia Eagles quickly got replaced him with another Pro Bowl selectee in free-agent QB Jeff Garcia.

After being released by the Oakland Raiders following the NFL Preseason, the 10-year veteran will be making his Philadelphia Eagles Sign Quarterback Jeff Garciasecond stay in the City of Brotherly Love. The 39-year-old, 4-time Pro Bowler filled in for an injured McNabb during a crucial part of the 2006 season.

In that role, Garcia flourished to a 5-1 mark in six starts, as the Eagles rallied to capture an NFC-East banner. "We're lucky Jeff was available," coach Andy Reid confirmed the reports.

"He's someone who knows this offense and has been very successful in this offense. He can be a positive influence on Kevin Kolb," Reid added.

The third man in the Eagles’ depth chart is of course the infamous Michael Vick. The former Falcons’ star will not be allowed to play until Week 3, as per the penalty issued by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for his involvement on the doghfighting ring operation that sent him to prison.
