LSU vs Mississippi State Line 2011 College Football Predictions Week 3: Thursday night's College Football Odds at Bodog.eu lists the No. 25 Mississippi State Bulldogs to be +4 1/2 point home underdogs to visiting No. 3 ranked LSU. MSU is 1-1 both SU and ATS while LSU is 2-0 SU and 1-0 ATS.
Last week MSU let down its backers losing as six-point road favorites to the Auburn Tigers. I was backing the Bulldogs to the finish in that game, but hopes were dashed at the Auburn six-inch line with no time on the clock. While I haven't made many bad picks; the MSU/Auburn game was one of them. No – I'm not a Bulldogs fan, in case you're wondering. I do my best to evaluate teams that are good betting value and had lots of chips on the Bulldogs.
MSU played a bad game versus Auburn, a game it should have won, this opinion based solely on the quality and experience of players on the field. I'm sure Bulldogs players got an eyeful of Auburn nearly losing to WAC weakling Utah State in Week-1, and based on that performance; thought they would get an easy win. Well, In the SEC there are no easy wins and the Bulldogs should have known that.
Tonight's Bulldogs vs. Tigers game should be a real slobber-knocker. I'm going to throw last Saturday's pick and MSU's performance out with the bath water and take the Bulldogs again; but this time as a home underdog getting +3 1/2 points. At a recent preseason conference in Las Vegas, a few VegasInsider.com guys, myself and others, got together over a few cocktails and concurred, that Mississippi State is a dangerous team. Vegas Insider Managing Editor Brian Edwards went on record to predict a Bulldogs victory over Alabama later in the season. I'm not so sure about that but I see an upset coming tonight when the Bulldogs have a national ESPN stage to themselves. College Football Predictions Week 3 Thursday – Bulldogs +3 1/2.
