2010 NFL Week 2 Lines: After a very disappointing loss to the New York Giants in week 1 of the 2010 NFL season, the Carolina Panthers received some good bad news this week. After being knocked out of Sunday’s 31-18 loss to the Giants on Sunday, it appears that Carolina Panthers [-3½] quarterback Matt Moore will be able to start in this Sunday’s game against the sports betting odds underdog Tampa Bay Buccaneers [+3½].
This game has a scheduled opening kickoff slated for 1 PM ET and the OVER/UNDER between Tampa Bay and Carolina is set at a combined total of 39 points scored. Moore suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game after taking two very hard hits. This week, Moore was cleared tom play and even practices in back-to-back days.
“I feel good. That’s where we’re at,” Moore said. “I’m planning and preparing (to start). If something changes, so be it.”
According to Panthers head coach John Fox, Moore has been medically cleared to play and will indeed start against the Bucs barring anything unforeseen.
“Medically, yes,” Fox said. “I go ‘day to day’ because my experience has been you never know with any injury, not just concussions.”Despite the concussion and Moore struggles, Fox doesn’t have any plans to substitute Moore for rookie Jimmy Clausen just yet. Moore threw three interceptions in the end zone and even lost a fumble. “That game is gone and we get 16 chances,” Moore said. “We just need to make sure it doesn’t happen anymore.”
