Alabama vs North Texas Line 2011 College Football Odds Week 3: Alabama will host North Texas (Sun Belt) on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium (7:35 PM ET). The Crimson Tide are ranked No. 2 and are coming off a 27-11 road win at Penn State last Saturday. AJ McCarron threw for 163 yards for Alabama in that win with one touchdown strike to Michael Williams, while Trent Richardson rumbled to 106 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in the victory for the 2-0 Crimson Tide. This game will probably be a laugher for Tide fans and profitable for the Mean Green who are +47-point underdogs with a 55 combined point (over/under)total, posted at SBGglobal.com.
"What we have tried to emphasize this week is getting better as a team," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said following Wednesday's practice. "We need to eliminate some of the issues and problems and things that definitely need correcting. I think the players have worked hard this week to try and do that."
It will be the second meeting in the last three years between the Crimson Tide and Mean Green and the fourth overall. Alabama is 3-0 in the series after a 53-7 win in Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2009. North Texas is 0-2 this season to Florida International and Houston and will be 0-3 after they play the Crimson Tide.
The only thing this game does is help North Texas finance its program and gives Alabama a chance to rest some starters and give the depth a little experience before beginning SEC play next week when Arkansas comes to Tuscaloosa.
Brelan Chancellor, after another record breaking performance against Houston, now leads the nation in all-purpose yards after the first two weeks. Chancellor is averaging 297 all-purpose yards a game. He is averaging 28.4 yards a kick-return, which ranks 23rd in the nation after two games. Chancellor was named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
