Auburn vs Clemson Line 2011 College Football Odds Week 3:The Auburn Tigers moved up in the polls this week after upsetting then 19th ranked Mississippi State to go 2-0 SU and 1-1 against the College Football Odds on the season. The Tigers, who had massive losses following their 2010-11 BCS championship run, were impressive beating the Bulldogs but were equally unimpressive narrowly escaping a loss to Utah State in Week-1. Auburn hits the road this Saturday for a SEC/ACC battle with the Clemson Tigers, currently off to a 2-0 SU start. The game will be televised by ABC.
College Football Odds makers at off shore sports book SBGglobal.com list Clemson 3 1/2-chalk favorites with 60 1/2 total. The money line price for a Clemson SU win is -160 ($160 wager to win $100) while Auburn backers are getting +140 ($100 wager to win $140).
Clemson is averaging 472 yards of offense and 39 points per game so far this year. Last week, quarterback Tajh Boyd threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-27 victory against Wofford.
Auburn QB Barrett Trotter completed 16 of his 23 pass attempts against Mississippi State for 146 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, while Michael Dyer rushed for 143 yards and made it into the end zone twice. With the win, the Tigers extended their consecutive games winning streak to 17 games.
"We are getting to play a very good football team in Clemson," Third year Auburn Coach Gene Chizik said at Thursday's press conference. "It's going to be really interesting with a very young team, taking them on the road for the first time in a really exciting venue to play in as well. Our goal is to get better every week and we're certainly going to have to do that to have a chance to win this Saturday in a very, very tough place to play."
Each of the last two meetings between the two teams has gone to overtime, and Auburn has won both 23-20 in the 2007 season Chick fil A Bowl and 27-24 at Auburn last year.
