NFL Week 2 Match Ups & Betting Lines

by Abe Luciano on Saturday, September 17th, 2011

NFL Week 2 Match Ups & Betting Lines: Week 2 of the 2011 NFL season will feature some great matchups to look out for. In this piece, I will be highlighting the best NFL Week 2 Match Ups & Betting Lines, of course. With no Byes as of yet, all 32 teams will be in action this week, as a full slate of NFL action will be available for all to enjoy and bet on.

The first game that immediately jumps out at me when looking at the NFL Week 2 calendar is the one taking place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Kicking off at 4:15 PM ET will be the NFL Week 2 Match Up between two NFL Week 2 Match Ups & Betting Linesteams certain to contend for a Super Bowl come playoff time. Both undefeated after a week of play, only one will walk out unscathed.

My top NFL Week 2 Match Up for this week will be between the (1-0-0) San Diego Chargers and the (1-0-0) New England Patriots. NFL Week 2 Betting Lines have the Patriots as the betting favorites to defeat the visiting Bolts by at least a touchdown and a point-after. In addition, the OVER/UNDER between both of these clubs is set at a combined total of 53½ points.

The Chargers are coming off a less-than impressive, 24-17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Bolts quarterback, Philip Rivers completed 33of his 48 attempts for 335 yards and 2 touchdowns, but was picked off twice. San Diego’s running attack was neutralized by the Vikes frontline. Minnesota limited Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert to just 80 yards combine, which ranks among the worst in Week 1.

For the Patriots, meanwhile, Week 1 saw Tom Brady show why he still is the best quarterback in the NFL. The 3-time Super Bowl champ picked the Miami Dolphins secondary apart, throwing for a whopping 517 yards on 32-for-48 pass completions and 4 TD to just one interception. The Pats also ran the ball effectively, tallying 106 yards on the ground for a total offensive explosion of 622 total yards, by far the most in the league after a week.

Here are some other NFL Week 2 Match Ups & Betting Lines:

(1-0-0) Chicago Bears [-6½] vs (1-0-0) New Orleans Saints [-6½]

(1-0-0) Baltimore Ravens [-6] vs (0-1-0) Tennessee Titans [+6]

(1-0-0) Green Bay Packers [-10½] vs (0-1-0) Carolina Panthers [+10½]

(1-0-0) Philadelphia Eagles [-2½] vs (0-1-0) Atlanta Falcons [+2½]
