USC vs. Washington College Football Picks: Ranked No. 3 in both major college football picks polls, AP and USA-Today/Coaches, the USC Trojans head north to begin their 2009 PAC-10 campaign as heavy favorites against the University of Washington Huskies at Huskie Stadium in Seattle, Wash.(3:30 pm ET).

USC is a prohibitive favorite on the BetUS moneyline at -1200 while Washington backers are getting +750 moneyline odds.Some folks might see this game as a let-down game for USC, coming off their big high-profile win over Ohio State in week 2. While the game doesn't get nearly the national attention as Ohio State did, it's games like these where USC seems to struggle. Keep in mind last years let down losing to Oregon State at Corvallis.
USC will also be visiting an old friend at Washington in Huskies head coach Steve Sarkisian. It was Sarkisin who cooridinated USC's offence last year and has been on USC Coach Pete Carroll's staff the past seven years.
Sarkisian knows the USC program as well as almost anyone in college football. He could probably draw on a sheet of paper their personnel groupings and formations. But he warned of subjecting himself to "paralysis by analysis," focusing too much on the Trojans and not installing the proper game plan for his players.
Washington looks vastly improved coming into this season. There were positive signs in the Huskies 23-31 loss to LSU in week 1 and were impressive in their win over Idao in week 2. Now how improved is another matter. Improved enough to defeat USC at home? Probably not – however; probably improved enough to cover as a 19 1/2 betting line.
