Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens NFL Predictions Week 3

by Steve Hastings on Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Cleveland vs Baltimore NFL Predictions Week 3: The Browns were supposed to be good this year, and they aren't off to a good start at 0-2.  They did lose to Superbowl favorite Dallas in week one 28-10, last week they lost their home opener to Pittsburgh 10-6. The oddsmakers at BodogLife.com currently have Baltimore -1 favorites to Cleveland heading into this matchup with the total at 38 points

QB Derek Anderson was 18/32, 166 yards but had 2 INT's.  In the Dallas game, HC Crennel was booed for kicking a field goal in the fourth quarter with the Browns down by three TDs.

Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens NFL Predictions Week 3Browns WR Braylon Edwards had two drops and wasn't available for interviews afterward.

The front line did a so-so job against the run last week, allowing 117 yards isn't awful, but giving up 3.8 yard per carry will not get you many wins. The Browns O-line is pretty good, so that's a commentary on how good the Steelers D is.  The weather was a big favor last week as Cleveland couldn't move the ball.  The Browns won both meetings last season – including a 33-30 overtime thriller in Baltimore.

The Ravens won their only game this season two weeks ago to Cincinnati 17-10.  QB Flacco ran for a 38-yard touchdown in his first NFL start.  Getting their scheduled trip to Houston cancelled last week allowed them all to stay in Baltimore while the Browns lose to Pittsburgh.  Flacco just needs to manage the game again.  It should be easier if McGahee plays.  Rice and McGahee should be a good one-two punch for the Ravens.  QB Joe Flacco was 15/29, 129 yards and no TD's and no INT's.

"It's just football. It's a lot of fun, though, just like it's always been," said Flacco, the 18th overall pick in the NFL draft. "I think our offense was in control all day.  And obviously we had a lot of help from our defense.".  Ravens having missed a game will be well rested and come out smashing Cleveland on both sides of the ball.

NFL Predictions week 3: Both teams have solid defense.  You know Baltimore is going to run the ball all day long and that will eat time of the clock.  Cleveland offense has sputtered but in all do fairness they have played the top team in the NFC and a top 3 team in the AFC.  Maybe you should look to play under the total today.  Under is 7-1 in Ravens last 8 games in Week 3.  I'm going to have a top play on the side in this game today.  Will I be going with the underdog or the favorite to bring home the money?  Check out my NFL Predictions week 3.
