open the season, looked well on its way to a 2-0 start after taking a 21-13 fourth quarter lead over the Redskins last Sunday. Larry Fitzgerald and Kevin Kolb hooked up on a 73 yard bomb to give the Cardinals the eight point advantage, but the defense was not able to maintain it. Washington, which racked up 455 yards, scored the game's final 10 points to drop Arizona 22-21.
Despite the loss, Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt has to be encouraged about the direction of the offense with Kolb under center. Seattle, which fell to 0-2 after getting drilled 24-0 by the Steelers last weekend, rank last in the league in yards per game and 31st in points per game at 191.5 and 8.5 respectively. Jackson has accumulated 356 yards passing, two touchdowns, and one interception since joining Seattle.
Arizona's pourous defense may open things up a bit for the Seahawks wayward offense, but it is difficult to envision any sort of huge outburst from this team. It is hard to win games at home or on the road without scoring points and Seattle looks as challenged on that front as any team in the league. Until Pete Carroll's troops shows any sort of ability to move the ball, they should be avoided or played against.
